Keelung City District Map

Chungcheng District
This district is a set commercial community, with an area of only some 10 square kilometers and a population of 50 thousand density. Located at the east side of the harbor, with mountains behind and sea in front, its position is important. He-Ping Island is to the north of this district, in line with Keelung Islet, controlling the throat of Keelung harbor, an important military locus. This district is not only important for sea shipment, but also the center of fisheries and shipbuilding in the north. The only and highest institute of learning of the city, National Taiwan Marine University, cultural center, city government, port office and Fishery Research Institute etc. are all in the district

Chitu District
Located in the southwest suburb of Keelung City, with an area of 56.2659 square meters accounting for 42.78% of the city, it neighbors Nuan-Nuan District of the city to its east, An-Le district is to its the north, and Sih-Zhih Township of Taipei County is to its south and west. This district is embraced by mountains with beautiful landscape, with a reserved countryside style. Keelung River flows from the northeast to the southwest, meeting Shih-Chuo-Keng, Tsau-Lan, Ma-Ling and Iu-Na Creeks. The whole district is hilly, with only a small piece of plain in the southwest corner of North Wu-Du. Within, the Tai-An, Ma-Ling and Iu-Na Districts are prosperous in agriculture with main crops of Green bamboo shoots and pomelo; also they are good loci for citizens' rest and sightseeing.


Nuannuan District
Located in the south east of the city suburb, linking Chih-Du in the west, facing Rui-Fnag in the east, fronting Jen-Ai District of the city, and Shih-Fen-Liau of Ping-Sih in the south, with vast mountains in the south, the nature reserved area. Among the 7 administrative districts, its area is only smaller than Chih-Du District, being the 2nd of the city; and population density second to last, is only higher than Chih-Du District. This district is surrounded by mountains, with Keelung River and Dong-Shih Creek winding through; the landscape is natural and beautiful and water sources and seedling fields flourish green. The East Nuan Valley is steep, trees are green; along Keelung River under Nuan-Nuan Bridge are the scarce wonder of pot care. All these natural landscapes attract massive tourists from outside, making Keelung a Utopia.


Jenail District
Locating at the center of the city, with dense population, is the most prosperous bustling commercial center of the city. Within, Hong-Dan Mountain and Shih-Ciu Top, the formation is slanting to the northwest. Nan-Rong, River, Shih-Chuan Canal and Tian-Liau River are the main canals in the city. The province-wide famous food court in front of the temple was developed from the center of Dian-Ji Temple with some 60 numbered fixed venders. Kan-Zih-Ding fish market, existing since the Ching Dynasty, is presently the biggest fishery-distribution center in Northern Taiwan. Its customary name is "Ma-Zu" Temple, Ching-An Temple is the main temple of the Keelung region, with the nation-wide renounced Mid-July Festi


Chungshan District
Located in the northwest of the city, by the side of the Inner harbor of Keelung in the east, linking Jen-Ai District in the south, facing the sea in the north, there are piers along the harbor, with convenient traffic, gathering all harbor equipment inside. This district, leaning by the mountains and neighboring waters, has a beautiful landscape and is pleasing; its customary name is "Mu-Shan-Au", Wai-Mu-Shan fisher's port with mountain in the rear and sea in the front; the open view makes it an excellent locus to watch the sea. Except for the rich fish harvest, public implementations of Dai-Tian Temple, Bai-Mi-Wong Battery, God's cave Rock and Folk Art cultural Museum etc. attract people to swim, fish, sightsee by day and night; it is quite a worthwhile trip for mountain and water lovers.


Anle District
The name of An-Le (peace and happiness), meanspeople behave and are responsible, diligent and enjoy, thus in its name symbolizing peaceful residence and happy business. Located in the northwest of the city, the population is gathered in the southeast, except around An 1st Rd. is plain; most of the other is hilly. Within, are Shih-Fang-Da-Jyue Temple, Lover's lake; and Da-Wu-Lun Battery was listed as a grade 2 ancient remnant by Council for Cultural Affairs. Watching offshore waters from here soothes hearts and spirits, and makes it have potential for developing sightseeing. Sin-Shan Reservoir located in Wu-Ling Top of Da-Wu-Lun, is the only reservoir able to adjust water resources. Around the reservoir, the environment is elegant and beautiful, is a natural sightseeing rest area.


Hsinyi District
Located at the center of the city, with a total area of 10,6706 square meters, 47577 population, is the place of culture center gathering talents. In the domain, institutes and schools are everywhere: the Local Court of Keelung, Keelung Investigation Station of Bureau of Investigation of Ministry of Justice, Chong-Iu Junior College, Keelung Girl's Middle School, Pei-Deh Vocational High School, Guang-Long High School, 2 Junior High Schools, 6 Primary Schools, it has been called the culture education district. There are still many spots of beautiful sights like: Zhong-Zheng Park, Gong-Zih-Liau and Sheen-Au-Keng Batteries are all good resorts of holiday hikes.
